Attila Molnár

Attila Molnár is a prominent domestic “ambassador” of gastronomic renewal and development, and a dedicated advocate of fine dining. He places great emphasis on educating young hospitality students and helping them launch their careers. He comes from a hospitality dynasty and is a member of the Jakabffy school. His restaurant, Arany Kaviár, co-owned with Szása Nyíri, received the Dining Guide Hungary Best 10 Restaurants award every year between 2005 and 2022, except for three years. In 2011, as restaurant owners, he and Szása Nyíri received the Best of Budapest special award for Restaurateurs of the Year. In 2012, the membership of MVI awarded him the Restaurateur of the Year prize in recognition of his work, and in 2020 he received the Gundel Károly Award.

His restaurant has been listed among the establishments recommended by the Michelin Guide since 2007. In 2019, it received the Wine List of the Year award, and in 2020 the Restaurant Service of the Year award from the TOP10 Restaurant Hungary Dining Guide. They were awarded the Gault Millau 1 chef’s hat in 2010, 2011, and 2012. This year, the most well-known professional journal, the American Wine Spectator, honored their restaurant with a glass recognition.

Attila Molnár is behind the Arany Kaviár Gourmet Selection, the distribution of caviar and sturgeon in Hungary. He is co-owner of Accent Hotel Management, owner, manager, and founder of MoszkvaTér Bistro and UMO Budapest Restaurant, which was included among the Michelin Guide recommended restaurants just one year after opening. He is a founding and board member of the Pannon Gastronomy Academy, vice president of the Hungarian Bocuse d’Or Academy, and a member of the Hungarian Hospitality Guild and the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Association.
