He completed a hospitality and gastronomy vocational training school in 1994, after which he graduated, among other things, as a master chef and in tourism management as well as hotel management and gastronomy. He also possesses culinary knowledge related to various diets and holds a cheese sommelier qualification.
Since 2009 he has been a teacher of food preparation and food science at the Klessheim Tourism School in Salzburg (Tourismusschule Salzburg Klessheim). Since 2002 he has been a lecturer for the master chef course of the Economic Development Institute of the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce, and since 2003 he has also been a member of the final examination committee.
Previously, he carried out head chef duties at numerous hotels: Hotel Weisses Rössl, Harisch Hotel, Kitzbühel, Austria; Aqua Dome – Tirol Therme Längenfeld, Austria; Biohotel Stanglwirt, Going / Tyrol, Austria; Golfclub Gut Altentann, Henndorf, Austria; Hotel Traube, Lienz, Austria. He also worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants as well as kitchens rated by Gault & Millau.
He was a EuroSkills/WorldSkills cooking expert and jury member between 2008 and 2017 in Abu Dhabi, Gothenburg, São Paulo, Lille, Leipzig, London, Innsbruck, Lisbon, Calgary, and Rotterdam, at which the Austrian team won gold multiple times. He also participated in international culinary exhibitions in the past.
